bio
Originally from Los Angeles, California I was introduced to the world of volleyball in an 8th grade P.E class taught by a former Cal State Northridge Men’s Volleyball and Beach player Ed Degrasse. From then on I played in High School and was fortunate to be able to play in a fully sponsored Starlings Volleyball team as a sophomore (which was the first inner city team in South Central Los Angeles Area) and then with the assistance of the DeGrasse family and many sacrifices by my parents I was able to tryout and make the 18s Westside Volleyball Club my Junior and senior year. I was fortunate to play at CSULA under Bill Lawler from 2001-2006 as an Outside Hitter where the competition level was great and the friendships I built with my teammates have been ever lasting.
I began coaching club my freshman year in college for the LA County Probation Starlings Volleyball club and mentorship program in the South Central Los Angeles Area for 3 years and truly enjoyed that new aspect of the game as well. I then coached at Bishop Conati Our Lady of Loretto High School for a year and PPMS volleyball club.
This will be my 19th season coaching girls club volleyball from all ages 11’s-18 year olds. I have also coached boys for 15 years, ages 14-18s. I moved to Az in 2012 and since then have met many amazing families and have built an vast number of great friendships with people that share this crazy passion of ours. I have had the privilege of coach at Copper Canyon High School, Sierra Linda High School and in a few Az boys and Girls Clubs. In Az coached at Club Red boys and won 16s Regional Championship in 2013, Spiral boys and girls for 4 years coaching 15s, 12s and 13s, Fear boys for 2 years 15s, Matrix 18s boys and 18s girls for 2 years and now entering 2nd season at Revolution where I have coached the 17s, 12s and an very excited to be head coaching the 16 Elite this season.
