Sydney moved to the Phoenix area toward the end of her sophomore year of high school. Before moving, she was a two time letter winner at Grand County High School in Moab, UT. After the move, she became a two time letter winner at Centennial High School and played club volleyball at Revolution for two years. She then went on to play D1 volleyball at Northern Arizona University. There, she was a four year starting outside hitter for the program. She received an undergraduate degree in Biology and Health and Wellness coaching. After her playing career at NAU, she moved into the role of Graduate Assistant Coach for the team for two seasons. During this time, she learned the ropes of coaching college volleyball while pursuing a masters degree in Human Relations. Following her Master’s graduation, Sydney was promoted to Assistant Coach for the Lumberjacks. She served the team in this role for two seasons before stepping away from college coaching in December 2023.
