With over 20 years of dedicated involvement in the sport, Shannon Ferris stands as the proud Head Coach of Rev North 12/13’s. Having been introduced to volleyball at a later stage in life, Shannon’s passion for the game rapidly evolved from player to mentor.
During her playing years, Shannon played at a semi-pro level in the beach volleyball world. Enjoyed a full ride scholarship as a basketball player, and heptathlete for Glendale Community College and she went on to play on full academic and basketball scholarships at Grand Canyon University. She completed her Doctorate in Physical Therapy where she applies the knowledge of biomechanics and human anatomy to technical skills on the court.
Transitioning to coaching was a natural step for Shannon, with her foundational belief in “Coaching from the inside out.” Over the years, she has helped coaches at the Outrigger Canoe Club and Extreme Fitness Clubs nurturing the raw talents of athletes into full college scholarships in beach volleyball. Most recently stepping indoors to coach two middle school teams for BASIS Prescott, and RVA club teams last year.
Dedicated to not just the technical prowess of the game but also to the holistic development of each athlete, Shannon emphasizes personal growth, teamwork, resilience, and continuous learning in her training regimen.
When not on the court, Shannon enjoys swimming. hiking with family, reading about sports psychology, or volunteering at her children’s schools. Her unwavering commitment to volleyball and her athletes is evident in every practice, game, and interaction.
