Matt Simpson

Matt is new to RVA for the 24-25 season. Retired now from the beverage and retail clothing industries, he’s excited to give back to the sport that he had participated in for many years.

Aa a 4 sport athlete in HS, Matt focused solely on volleyball when he headed to Santa Ana Jr College. During his playing time at Santa Ana JC, Matt received an invitation to tryout for the Men’s National Team in Colorado Springs. “It was an honor to have received the invite and the experience of a lifetime”

San Diego State University scooped Matt up and offered a full scholarship to play for the Aztecs. Matt was a starting middle blocker and outside hitter for San Diego State. Post collegiate experience includes 4yrs USVBA open division.

Coaching experiences comes in the form of Summer camps, Chapman College women’s team and most recently with our local Prescott YMCA.

Matt’s philosophy is simple… have fun, be passionate, support/respect your teammates and opponents. Be prepared to stretch your skills level and fail… failure is how we get better.
