Congratulations Shelby Schoenbeck on your commitment to continue your academic and athletic career at the University of Northern Colorado!
Shelby joined RVA last season on 17 Premier as a middle. This past season, her team finished in the top 10 of the Fiesta MLK Classic, finished 4th overall in the AZ Region, and made an appearance at the Girls Junior National Championships, competing in the 17 National division.
Shelby is a 4-year varsity athlete at Sunrise Mountain HS. She has contributed nearly 500 kills and 250 blocks to her programs success. Last season, Shelby was named to the 5A Northwest All-Region 1st Team, and to the 5A Northwest Honorable Mention list in 2022 and 2021.
About 6 years ago Shelby and her family traveled to Colorado on a family vacation and she absolutely loved it. She thought the state was absolutely beautiful and had perfect weather. When the University of Northern Colorado reached out she was very excited because she always knew Colorado would be a good place to live. When Shelby visited the campus she instantly knew it was the perfect place for her. Everyone is so nice and the coaches and staff are amazing. Everything about the school and their volleyball program and culture were perfect and Shelby could see herself having a great 4 years in Colorado. While in college, Shelby plans on majoring in Business.
Her favorite memory from Revolution is getting to make new friends and work with amazing players and coaches. Shelby’s advice for young athletes is if you want to achieve your goals and continue on to play in college you have to want it and work hard every time you step in the gym. This sport takes a lot of dedication and time but can also become one of the best things in your life and can help you make so many new friendships.
